Trek Scarecrow Gravel Ride

THE TREK SCARECROW GRAVEL RIDE

Saturday, June 17, 2023 (8:00 AM)

Our signature event is back again, rolling along the beautiful gravel roads of the Blue Mountains. We will be offering three different distance options again for 2023 (58km, 70km, and 94km). Timed segments allows riders the option to race if they want to, while maintaining a fun, social ride at the same time. Routes will be announced at a later date. Professional riders Adam Roberge (Jukebox/Factor) and Devon Clarke (Chalk’s Training) will be leading the ride.

UPDATE: courses have changed slightly. See the links below for the new maps.

NEW FOR 2023:
The ride will start at the TOP of Blue Mountain, offering a stunning view of Georgian Bay, and will end in the heart of Blue Mountain Village, where you can check out the Expo and get some refreshments.

PARKING
Free parking is available at the top of the mountain in the Wood View Lot, on Scenic Caves Road. There will be a coffee truck and porta-potties there.

AFTER THE RACE
The race finishes in the Village. The Lazer Lounge will be open to all riders to relax after the race. To go back to the top to get your car: you can pick up a Gondola Ticket when you drop off your timing chip in the Registration Area at the Grand Central Lodge. You cannot take your bike up with you on the Gondola! You may leave your bike temporarily in the Registration Area (at your own risk) while you get your car. It is not secured there, but it is out of the public view. If you are concerned about leaving your bike, then you may want to consider being dropped off at the start instead of parking there.

Awards will be given out in the Village after all distances are finished at 2pm in the Gondola Plaza. Prizes are awarded to the winner of each age/gender category, except Elite, where first, second, and third prizes are awarded.

TIMED SEGMENTS
This race follows an Enduro race format, with timed segments. Race results are based on the overall combined times of these segments. Approximately 1km before each timed segment, there will be a sign indicating the distance and elevation gain of the upcoming segment. Then, there will be a sign to indicate the start of the segment, and another sign to indicate the end of the segment.

SAFETY
You must wear a certified helmet while on the course. You must obey the rules of the road at all times during the race. This is NOT a closed course race. The timed segment format allows you to race while remaining safe by following the rules of the road.
